Austin Kim is currently running NCT Solutions in Korea working CBRN related business including CBRN treatments, detection devices, countermeasure stockpiling solutions as well as EMP protection development since Sep 2017.
Austin Kim was previously with Samsung Electronics as a senior vice-president of engineering in the Mobile Communication business division since Feb 2003. Prior to Samsung, he was working for Lucent Technologies Bell Labs during the previous 15 years of his career. Austin has been managing a number of technology groups in Samsung and Bell Labs performing special roles in hardware designs and verification, ASIC/FPGA development, multimedia (voice/audio/video codecs), and RF development in mobile phones and wireless systems. Austin also has been working on various wireless projects and developed new design and verification methodology including RF, Antenna and MIMO technologies.
Recent projects Austin Kim has been managing are special antenna designs and development for Smartphones and Tabs such as Galaxy device series including metal body antenna phones lately.
Austin Kim received BS and MS degrees in Electrical Engineering at University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, and a Ph.D. degree in Computer Science at Illinois Institute of Technology while he was working at Bell Labs.
